About
Dr. Masoud Moghaddam became a member of the International Association of Strength & Conditioning (IASC) Board of Directors in 2022. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, located in the United States. His academic journey includes the attainment of a doctoral degree in Health and Human Performance from Oklahoma State University, complemented by a master’s degree in Exercise Science and an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. He actively pursues the advancement of equal opportunities by leveraging his expertise to ensure universal access to education in fitness and sports performance.

Experience
His research is centered on developing scientific methods for investigating the effects of training interventions on the neuromuscular and cardiorespiratory systems. He has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter aiming to advance scientific knowledge on neuromuscular and cardiorespiratory adaptations. Since 2016, he has presented his work at professional venues such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Annual Meetings and the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) National Conference.
Masoud’s teaching experiences consist of teaching undergraduate and graduate levels in Exercise Science and Health & Human Performance such as Biomechanics, Strength & Conditioning (Performance: Theory & Practice), Sports Performance Testing, Exercise Metabolism & Muscle Physiology, Applied Physiology, Research in Physiology, and Fitness Testing.
Masoud is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Certified Performance & Sports Scientist (CPSS) by NSCA. He is also a Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) and a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) by ACSM. In addition, he is a certified coach by the USA Track & Field (USATF) in throwing events.
Masoud was a track and field athlete competing in hammer and weight throwing. He is a former All-American hammer thrower and coached throws in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Track & Field Division II & III in the United States. Currently, he is an Assistant Coach of Throws for Salisbury Seagulls Track & Field.
