About
Ivan Usenko is a sports performance scientist, mentor, and coach with diverse experience across disciplines and industries.
Ivan has over 20 years of experience in sports and fitness as an athlete, coach, and therapist for disciplines including track and field, tennis, rugby, martial arts, equestrian sports, and others. He is a member of the UK Southwest Athletics Coaching Network and UK Athletics (UKA).
Ivan’s passion for broad knowledge, backed up by a double MSc in sports & exercise medicine and aerospace technology science, often led to outside-of-box solutions when working with patients and athletes.
Ivan spent four years in China, running his sports clinic and an athletic performance gym in Guilin. During this time, he was actively engaged with the private sector, universities, and Guangdong Strength and Conditioning Association (GSCA).

- MSc in Sports and Exercises Medicine – University of South Wales UK.
- S&C coach at level 4 – UK Strength & Conditioning Education for performance sports.
- Sports Therapist at level 5 – London School of Massage (Advanced Sports Massage Practitioner with distinction, granted by International Therapy Examination Council)
- UK Athletics (UKA) Athletics Coach – undertook UK national athletics coaching development programme while being a coach at Bristol & West Athletics Club (a club operating at high standards of sports performance with Olympic-level athletes)
- European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification in Human Performance and Limitations in Aviation – covering air accident investigation, test flights, and maintenance environment.
- Master’s degree in aerospace engineering science from Cranfield University, UK.
