Get Fit At Home With These Top 12 Tips

It’s evening and just come back from the work. You’re tired and hungry, but you promised yourself to start exercising from today and get to your ideal shape. But you don’t like to go to the gym, it’s so far from your apartment and wastes too much time. It’s the time you can start to work out at home and a safe time.

Try these tips to get fit at home:

1. Use social media. While sitting at home, you could use the power of social media to get some workout ideas. Simply follow some qualified online fitness coaches and you will have fresh content delivered directly to your feed each day.

2. Invest in some key equipment. While it would be nice to buy a squat rack, chances are you won’t have enough room at home for it. Instead, think about other equipment that can assist in your workouts and won’t take up much space.

  • A kettlebell and some mid-weight dumbbells are a good start as they can add an extra dimension to your home workouts.
  • You may also want to invest in some resistance bands for training anterior and posterior muscles or perhaps a jump rope to perform some cardio in your yard. you can practice strength training with simple equipment.
  • Don’t have a lot of money to spend on a home gym? Strapped for room to store weights and machines? No problem. You can create a pretty decent gym without spending much money or taking up much space. You just have to know how to make effective use of a few key pieces of equipment.

3. Clean the house. Not everyone loves doing housework, but doing those chores is a good way of getting fit. Plus, you’re making your house healthier and more presentable too, which will help uplift your mood.

4. Utilize your surroundings. The furniture around your house, even your walls, and surfaces, can be used to create interesting exercises and workouts.

  • For example, you could use a chair to perform triceps dips, or perhaps even step-ups.
  • Use your imagination and you may surprise yourself with the possibilities.

5. Use those empty gaps of time to exercise. Waiting for your kettle to boil, or perhaps during TV commercials, could be the perfect time to do a few exercises.

  • These short 30-second workouts can add up to something significant by the end of the day.

6. Try bodyweight exercises. Although I mentioned earlier buying certain pieces of equipment, you don’t really need them if you prefer bodyweight exercises. From squats to push-ups, to burpees, the possibilities are endless.

7. Load up that fitness DVD. At the back of your closet, you may find an old celebrity fitness DVD. Perhaps it’s time to go old school and give it another shot? You better follow some simple exercise special cardio workout. Do not try to watch the exercises that need too many skills.

8. Browse YouTube. If you’re struggling with workout ideas or motivation, take a moment or two to browse YouTube. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of personal trainers and fitness experts available with numerous routines you can follow. We always suggest not to do random exercises on social media, you always need to follow a program written by qualified coaches.

9. Keep workouts short. You don’t need to work out for hours to see results. Even 20-30 minutes a day can produce dramatic benefits.

  • Ensure that you give 100% when you do exercise. This helps insure you will see the results you desire.  It’s really about being present and in the moment! But you should be careful not to push too much too early. Always more is not good, so try to listen to your body. If you’re too tired take some rest.
  • HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) is a good idea as you are working out to set intervals, where you will be giving 100% followed by a short break.
  • Practice yoga. Yoga is good for your mind, body, and spirit, so it’s worth adding it to your home workout routine. Luckily, you don’t need to be an expert to experience the benefits!
  • Designate a workout space: Much like how you have a dedicated workstation at home, give home workouts the same kind of respect and attention. A designated workout space would give you the necessary motivation to workout at home. Just looking at some of the equipment such as a yoga mat, dumbbells, elastic bands, and more, can give you the excitement you need to finish work and head to the workout station for a fun home workout.
  • How much space are you willing (or able) to devote to a gym? The fact remains that the more space you have, the greater your options for equipment will be. If you have your mind set on purchasing a particular unit, make sure you have the space necessary to house it. For example, a multistation resistance machine can take up an entire 12-by-12-foot (4-by-4-m) room.

10. Challenge yourself: One of the best ways to stay engaged with your workout is by setting goals. Set a course to improve your flexibility, stamina, or strength by year’s end. Chart your progress and your reps in an old-fashioned notebook or on a smartphone app. Promise yourself a reward (a new set of workout clothes?) if you make progress on your fitness goals.
