Jothan Hibben originates from Leicester, United Kingdom. Through his influential father, he was exposed to every sport going such as, running, cycling, rugby, football, canoeing, and ice hockey. This natural lifestyle of being healthy and active inspired Jothan to pursue a career in Sports and went on to study Sports Science at University.
Education
Jothan attended Southampton Solent University where he achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Sports Science. He also attained a Master of Science in Applied Physiology from the University of Brighton.
Experience
Jothan has accumulated a blend of practical and academic experience that has taken him to Australia, Canada, Kuwait, New Zealand, and presently China. He has worked as a personal trainer, sports scientist, and strength & conditioning coach for a variety of clients ranging from non-athletic populations to elite athletes in various sports.
Currently, he serves as the Head of Strength and Conditioning for the Beijing Sports Bureau in China. He leads the delivery and oversees the performance training services in preparation for national and international tournaments. These include the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, 2021 China National Games, and the 2022 Asian Games. Athletes range from youth, international, and Olympic levels competing in badminton, boxing, fencing, golf, karate, martial arts, sanda, taekwondo, and volleyball.
